SIAA / SAN Group’s Hampton, NH office location had a unique combination of features. Originally a 3,000 square foot tavern with roots dating back to the 1700s, the property added a substantial addition in the 1980s. With one foot in an 18th century aesthetic and the other stuck in the ‘80s, the insurance agency called on us to make the space feel cohesive and create space for their growing team.
This was a comprehensive project, for which we provided space planning, finishes, furnishings and equipment specifications, contract documents and project administration services. Our space plan maintained a balance of private offices and open work spaces, with the inclusion of a comfortable new break room, a welcoming lobby area and state-of-the-art conference room. Inspired by the beautiful wood details and warm aesthetic of the space’s original use as a tavern, the upgraded offices incorporate nods to its past, including a custom wood reception desk.
This juxtaposition of old and new is perhaps most prominent in the marketing department, where a glass-walled conference room, open collaborative meeting space, and open workstations add a contemporary freshness. The result is an aesthetic transition between two buildings that feels seamless.
