A New Space For The Nation’s First Credit Union
In Manchester, NH sits a historic financial business. St. Mary’s Bank is the United States’ oldest credit union that first opened their doors in 1908. Since that time, the credit union has been a constant presence in Manchester’s business landscape.
Over a century later, St. Mary’s Bank took an exciting step forward: building a brand-new corporate headquarters. The credit union didn’t stray far from its roots, now located just across from its original home—nor did we abandon their historic identity when creating the interior design for the upgraded headquarters.
Working closely with the St. Mary’s Bank team, the architects at Lavallee Brensinger Architects and Harvey Construction, we incorporated St. Mary’s signature presence and long-standing identity into the space, infusing the bank’s history and surrounding city with their corporate brand, through tools including custom window film, classic materials and finishes and elegant furnishings. We also brought the business into the 21st century with a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification, contributing to a green, energy-efficient facility.
