When waste-to-energy pioneer Wheelabrator Technologies suddenly expanded—just five years after we designed the company’s original offices—the rebranded WIN Waste Innovations returned to Stibler Associates to create a new office space to showcase the company’s evolution with drama and warmth.
Boasting cutting-edge sustainability technology, WIN Waste Innovations’ new headquarters is the first CLT commercial office building utilizing timber-frame construction in New Hampshire. Stibler created a design that juxtaposes the strong branded color palette, industrial elements, such as glass walls, concrete floors and exposed infrastructure, with softer elements like wood trellises, the building frame itself, and creative biophilic elements.
To enhance access to natural light for all occupants, we worked closely with our client to create a space plan with few enclosed spaces along the exterior perimeter. Interior offices and meeting spaces utilize full height glass to ensure that natural light reaches as many team members as possible. Biophilic details, including plants and moss walls help bring the outside indoors. The generous break area features 15-foot high windows on two sides, a platform with pergola and furnishings that work together to evoke an outdoor café.
